The Symbol of a Token

The symbol of a token
For a covenant without end
Is of a stick perfectly broken
To fit together once again

Each piece represents its owner
Their promise merges them as one
Significant... its oft looked over
As what's eternal can't be undone

Each piece has to be lifted
And held in place to stay
If either end has shifted
The connections slips away

When we go to the temple
Our hands too must be clean
For though the stick is simple
How we've held it will be seen
