In Nineteen Sixty Seven- A New Heart

In nineteen sixty seven
A heart was transplanted
Prolonging death and heaven
Miraculously granted

But this was not a simple end
Blood cells went on the attack
The heart being found foreign
It took many pills to fight them back

Soon the patient felt so good
And forgot pills here and there
The missed follow ups that one should…
Couldn’t show the damage of lassaiz faire

In a case of denial
That's truly disobedience
The result can be fatal
And must be corrected, hence..................>

A mighty change of heart
Also takes place spiritually
As we repent and restart
To be Christ-like habitually

At first we feel so great
We forget to be on guard
But, prayers and scriptures can't wait
For hearts tend to be stony hard

Lest spiritual death threatens
These are things we must do
For then spirituality deepens
Through a heart continually renewed

Let us rejoice in Christ
Even to teach with vigor
That our homes come alive
Lit with passion and fervor
