How Long is That Phone Tree?- Prayer

How long is that phone tree
That left me in queue
I am forever waiting
With other things to do

How I want a real voice
To complete this call
Now I must make the choice
To wait or let that tree fall...

After having gone this far
Shall I quit and start again
No, I'll imagine Myanmar
Who, from there, I will make a friend

Meanwhile, if only I could choose
What I must listen to
Better music or the news
Or silence... there to think and do!

With all the people on the earth
I'm so thankful God is ever nigh
I don't have to wait to be next of worth
For at any time He knows and hears my cry

Does it seem to anyone else that the longer the phone tree, the further and remote is the person who answers?

“Access to our Creator through our Savior is surely one of the great privileges and blessings of our lives. I have learned from countless personal experiences that great is the power of prayer. No earthly authority can separate us from direct access to our Creator. There can never be a mechanical or electronic failure when we pray. There is no limit on the number of times or how long we can pray each day. There is no quota of how many needs we wish to pray for in each prayer. We do not need to go through secretaries or make an appointment to reach the throne of grace. He is reachable at any time and any place.”
James E. Faust, “The Lifeline of Prayer,” Ensign, May 2002, 5
