Excuse Me

Excuse me, pardon me for interrupting
There is something I must impart
When profanity is erupting
It saddens me deep in the heart

Do you know this very morning
I uttered a prayer and felt God's love
Such that now I am in mourning
That you think so lowly of Him above

Whether His name's shouted to express shock
Or is loudly exclaimed in joy or anger
It is still a tool that does mock
And hits me here (my heart) like a dagger

Next time you mention our Father
Who dwells in beauty and cleanliness
May you remember He is the author
And finisher of our happiness
