Shall the Distress That's Come Our Way

Shall the distress that has come our way
Lead us unto paths of doubt?
No, it shall impress us ever to pray
As we daily go about

Heavenly Father and our Lord doth live
And love all humanity
What greater evidence can they give
Than at times of adversity?

Shall we think it unjust to have distress
When it's our education?
For therein comes trust that does witness
Unto rich transformation

Each righteous choice that's hard to do
Qualifies us eternally
For we rejoice in life anew
As Christ-like, thus, we come to be...

He'd afflictions and temptations
To know pains of every kind
He atoned unto salvation
Granting mercy that's divine

Who promises relief? But our Savior
Offering comfort and healing
That through our grief we find succor
As He knows what we are feeling

That through our covenants we're saved from hell
And strengthened through dependence
Unto capacity to endure well
Which leads us to deliverance

What ever happens, we have Jesus
Who knows what's for our best
And to the end He stands by us
Through each purification test

Dear disciple,
Please accept this invitation
To grow in the midst of trial
It is but for your education
As wisdom forthwith to file

I stand amidst with stretched forth hands
Suffering your pains with you also
Of your pleading, I do understand
And through your faith, miracles will follow

Humbly, as you grow in confidence
That life is but a test
Do not have hesitance
To help those who's trials you know best

Give to others what you yourself would want
With charity take on each hard task
Putting another first, it's your pride you'll confront
While, succoring those in need- this I will and ask

Fight a good fight and finish the course
Which has been appointed for you
Repent oft that ye know not remorse
Until your days are through

Signed
Your Savior, Author and Finisher
