In Celestial Mansions

In Celestial mansions I picture
Cultivated hearts and minds
As well I see our heavenly parents
Exquisitely and perfectly refined

Just to see their faces, what pleasure
Such that's it's inconceivable to me
With each utterance angelic and measured
Their home must exhibit purity and sincerity

What would be found there for entertainment?
A library filled with masterful works?
Surely paramount to our literary attainment
Would be the scriptures and holy words

And if we could peek through a heavenly veil
With each scene would drift glorious melodies
Next to which all we've known on earth pales
As we'd keep company with these tunes in our memories

May we prepare for the coming of our Lord
By cultivating refinement where we live
That as His own, foreordained and favored
We're prepared for what our heavenly parents give
