I once knew what alone meant
As an addict without hope
But, now through the atonement
I have Christ to help me cope
He took my sins away
But, for now, not the urge
For that I still must pray
Till I learn enough to purge
For now He grants me patience
That I might endure well
To solidify my change hence
Unto peace there in to dwell
For now he plants my feet
Where they are safe to walk
And he helps me there to meet
People with whom He'd have me talk
