Our Changing World

Only misery and heartache awaits
Those who live their lives in transgression
For the world loveth their own and of God hate
Unto pride and stumbling for one's progression

But man's strength and power can be multiplied
By learning and observing the commandments of God
Thus becoming His Saints with sins denied
There to benefit those both near and abroad

We do not claim to be superior
But believe each problem is best solved
When we apply the plan that's been set forth
There to be educated and spiritually evolved

Each contribution we make to this world
Lays an example that good might roll forth
That the gospel light might enlarge and unfurl
For each man to recognize a celestial worth

To do that which glorifies God does elevate
Unto being the salt of the earth full of savour
Where we put our light upon the hill to demonstrate
That our good works and deeds are from and for the Savior

In this day, as knowledge speedily unfolds
The world increases in confusion and unease
Let us remain brightly pure like unto gold
And from earthly impurities be refined and find peace

John 15:19
18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

Matthew 5:13-16
13 ¶ Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good bworks, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
