A Man With the Warmth of Midday

A man with the warmth of midday
Extended to me a sacred call
And I could not doubt the things he did say
For the love in his eyes said it all

I felt his eyes pierce deeply
As he measured of my soul
Next, his arms came to me sweeping
To welcome me unto my new role

Now, to those of you in my presence
I ask for your forgiveness and faith
I ask for your prayers and patience
As I feel humbled as a poor waif

I know that I am not yet what I must become
My knees are weak and my emotions are bare
As I express thanks for your sustaining vote
In many respects I've no talents to spare

But, I take solace that in one qualification
The Lord has prepared me with clarity
That I know who He is without equivocation
To go forth and serve Him in this call of rarity
