More Precious Than Gold

More precious that gold
More valued than money
The scriptures behold
Are sweeter than honey

In the fleshy tablets of our hearts
Our Lord's holy scriptures can be written
For there in always something imparts
As we carry and ponder His words within

For those who feast there is much to learn
To make one wise unto salvation
For, then we'll feel complete where e're we turn
And regardless our situation

As the soul delights to read God's book
There is a heavenly light that can be seen
It's about the faces who there in do look
And are in love with what they are reading

Ps. 19: 10
More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

2 Ne. 4: 15-16
And upon these I write the things of my soul, and many of the scriptures which are engraven upon the plates of brass. For my soul delighteth in the scriptures, and my heart pondereth them, and writeth them for the learning and the profit of my children.
Behold, my soul delighteth in the things of the Lord; and my heart pondereth continually upon the things which I have seen and heard.

2 Cor. 3: 3
Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.

Alma 32: 28
Now, we will compare the word unto a seed. Now, if ye give place, that a seed may be planted in your heart, behold, if it be a true seed, or a good seed, if ye do not cast it out by your unbelief, that ye will resist the Spirit of the Lord, behold, it will begin to swell within your breasts; and when you feel these swelling motions, ye will begin to say within yourselves—It must needs be that this is a good seed, or that the word is good, for it beginneth to enlarge my soul; yea, it beginneth to enlighten my understanding, yea, it beginneth to be delicious to me.
