How does a plane master altitude
To arrive at its destination?
A thrust, a lift, and aircraft attitude
Is my simplified explanation
In truth, it must be equal to the task
In design systems and in programs
Thus, I give the basics to those who ask
Without the use of complex diagrams
Too, I contemplate investigators
Who ask basic questions theirs to explore
Which reminds me that the simplest is what's greater
And at the heart of the gospel's unchanging core
And as such, what is at our center?
For growth and spiritual progress
Perhaps it should be on the covenants we enter
As inside us the correct principles impress
That we might become more like the Savior
And develop Christ-like attributes
Where proper use of agency leads the way t'wards
Spiritual self-reliance, and safety from disputes
May our faith gain thrust and our hope carry us
So we'll cross o'er the deep oceans of temptations
And, o'er mountains of afflictions that confront us
To reach that glorious and eternal destination
