What More Could We Ask For?

What more could we ask for?
Than to be forgiven of our sins
And have the Holy Ghost our comforter
As through baptism, new life begins

What a dream
To be forgiven
And be found clean
By God in heaven

Weekly, and with fervor in one's soul
We gather for forgiveness
And ponder the emblems of the Son
Unto newness and remembrance

Each mind is found changed
Each heart is made pure
And thoughts rearrange
That we might more endure

And with our gift as our guide
We've the scriptures for increase
They calm the rising tide
Of temptations, till they appease

There's peace in doing as we should
What more could anyone ask for?
For though, alone, we might be good
To be sanctified is so much more
