We can pay tribute, as did Christ
He showed complete obedience
When He was to be sacrificed
There was no regret or grievance

Soon the whole earth, He would ransome
He paid tribute to His mother
She contributed what He'd become
As she loved Him, like no other

He wanted Mary protected
Some of His last thoughts were of her
So she would not feel dejected
To look upon John, he offered

We all need someone to live for
Someone that we'd not disappoint
Someone who does not ask for more
Yet, their belief in us does annoint
