A Man Passed By

A man passed by
I felt his thought
Though he'd not cry
There's pain he fought
He was so hungry
And so alone
Though not angry
And not forlorn

My leftovers
Could ease his pain
And my efforts
Were not in vain
He smiled brightly
And gobbled up
Ever slightly
Was it enough?

I've tears for him
He's in my prayers
There's much within
That now impairs
Hindering progress
Except- there's me
I was impressed
Through him- I see
