Noah, A Just Man Who Walked With God

A just man who walked with God-
He oft called man to repent
But, they thought that he was odd
An arc no where to be sent ?
Then, down the big raindrops went

40 days and 40 nights
The upper atmosphere drained
And the earth was soon baptized
Though some question how long it rained
Belief in Noah has not wained

The flood- the dividing point
Seized longevity to flow
Had the firmaments joined
From what's above to what's below?
Now there's rainbows, that much we know

As the sunlight strikes the rain
A prism in each raindrop
Shows color, where it once was plain
In a bow that arcs at the top
And seven colors develop

As though a ladder to heav'n
Upon which heroes can climb
In Genesis the truth is giv'n
As a covenant to mankind
This bow's the token you will find

We all come from Noah's seed
As all others quickly drowned
They who still in God believed
Could have offspring righteous bound
To fill the earth with peace around

Gen. 1: 6-8, 14-15, 17, 20
6 ¶ And God said, Let there be a firmament
in the midst of the waters,
and let it divide the waters from the waters.
7 And God made the firmament,
and divided the waters which were
under the firmament from the waters
which were above the firmament:
and it was so.
8 And God called the firmament Heaven.
And the evening and the morning
were the second day.

14 ¶ And God said, Let there be lights
in the firmament of the heaven
to divide the day from the night;
and let them be for signs, and for seasons,
and for days, and years:
15 And let them be for lights in the firmament
of the heaven to give light upon the earth:
and it was so.
• • •
17 And God set them in the firmament
of the heaven to give light upon the earth,
• • •
20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth
abundantly the moving creature that hath life,
and fowl that may fly above the earth in the
open firmament of heaven.

Genesis 9
13 I do set my bow in the cloud,
and it shall be for a token of a
covenant between me and the earth.
14 And it shall come to pass,
when I bring a cloud over the earth,
that the bow shall be seen in the cloud:
15 And I will remember my covenant,
which is between me and you
and every living creature of all flesh;
and the waters shall no more become a
flood to destroy all flesh.
16 And the bow shall be in the cloud;
and I will look upon it, that I may remember
the everlasting covenant between God
and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth.
