He'd Been Admonished and Nurtured

He'd been admonished and nurtured.
Now, with his father gone, his soul hungered!
He sought for a remission of his sins.
And knelt all day and night unto the heavens.

While in supplication, praying
The voice of the Lord came upon him, saying:
"Enos, thy sins are forgiven thee,"
Their conversation then was quite lengthy.

Though his sins had been swept away;
For the welfare of others, Enos prayed.
What would come of his brethren, the Nephites?
And, of his enemies, the Lamanites?

He was told that soon the Lord would manifest.
This brought him comfort and put His soul to rest.
Remnants of family would be restored in faith.
And the holy records would be kept safe.

Enos showed faith and learned from Christ.
Now like his father, he would prophesy.
Though his enemies would not heed a single word.
He testified of the things he saw and he heard.
